Into the Multiverse of Voon!

Voon’s latest research venture with his supervisors portrays food practices of migrant domestic work in three ways; “old” food practices of families pre-migration, practices of “left-behind families” post-migration, and the in-situ food practices engaged by migrant domestic workers themselves in their employers’ homes in their destination countries.

Through this, the project aims to represent the findings of the original UROP work in visual and instructional form. By replicating the ingredients, cooking methods, and material constraints faced by interviewees through a cookbook, Voon aims to attain a deeper, richer understanding of the issues that migrant workers and their families face.
