Mr Pang Chong Ning is Chief Procurement Officer at NUS, a position he has held since 2021. He was previously Deputy Director at the University’s Central Procurement Office from 2019 to 2020.
A seasoned global procurement specialist with over two decades of experience in the chemicals industry, Chong Ning has a deep understanding of supply chain optimisation, raw materials, strategic sourcing, purchasing, and management. His extensive industry experience includes stints at global flavours and fragrances supply giant Symrise, where he was Regional Procurement Director from 2008 to 2019, and Givaudan, where he was Regional Procurement Manager from 1999 to 2008. These portfolios have afforded him a wide-ranging familiarity with international standards, import and export regulations, custom procedures, and international trade agreements.
Chong Ning’s key strengths lie in his ability to analyse and optimise the supply chain process for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness, his comprehensive understanding of business strategy, as well as his adeptness at negotiating across cultures and roles.
A passionate management professional, he has also managed diverse teams and driven business growth across numerous settings, as well as trained and mentored many procurement professionals.
Chong Ning holds a Bachelor of Business (Distinction) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, where he specialised in Business Logistics Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration, focused on Business Strategy, from the Nanyang Technological University.
