NUS Education Grant Writing Course

The Education Grant Writing Course, jointly organised by the Institute for Applied Learning Sciences & Educational Technology (ALSET) and Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) is designed with a focus on guiding participants to prepare a formal grant proposal for research into higher education. This course will introduce participants to both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, create opportunities to formulate research questions, explore relevant literature, and design appropriate measures of students’ learning outcomes.

 

Intended learning outcomes

The course aims to guide participants in:

  • articulating and grounding the proposed inquiry-based studies with reference to appropriate frameworks
  • designing and developing inquiry-based studies in higher education
  • writing a proposal for a higher education research grant application

Target audience

  • Academics and other members of staff who are preparing to write and submit higher education research proposals.
  • Academics and other members of staff who are applying for the next call for MOE Tertiary Education Research Fund (MOE TRF).

Course schedule

The course will be conducted in a fully online mode (both synchronous and asynchronous) over a period of four weeks. There will be assigned tasks to be completed by participants prior to attending each session.

Applications should be sent using the online form here, no later than 15 January 2021. Please note that there are limited places available. EOI outcome notifications will be sent via email by 22 Jan 2021 with more details about the course.
