NUS Alumni Awards



The NUS Alumni Awards was established during the NUS Centennial Celebrations in 2005 to recognise and honour alumni who have made significant and impactful contributions to their alma mater, society, and the world.

Nominations for the 2025 awards are open from 1 January 2025 to 21 February 2025.

Awards Categories

 

Eminent Alumni Award

The Eminent Alumni Award honors alumni who have made exceptional and sustained contributions to public or community service, either nationally or globally. This includes achievements across various fields such as the arts, sports, culture, entrepreneurship, or in professional or scholarly areas.


Lifetime Service Award New

The Lifetime Service award recognises alumni who have contributed to the success and growth of NUS alumni networks and/or interest groups and volunteer programmes, including internship and mentorship programmes for a minimum of 10 years.


Distinguished Alumni Service Award

The Distinguished Alumni Service Award recognises alumni for excellence and leadership in their field, celebrating significant contributions, innovations, or achievements that positively impact their sector, community, and country, with a focus on domain-specific accomplishments.


Outstanding Young Alumni Award

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognises alumni aged below 40 who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields. They may also have rendered excellent volunteer service to NUS and/or the community while exemplifying the best attributes of youth in today's world.

Criteria for Alumni Awards

The Alumni Awards honour individuals who excel in their field, demonstrate leadership, and make significant contributions to their profession or community. Key criteria include professional achievements, impactful service, inspiring leadership, and recognition from peers or industry.

Nominees must also maintain a strong connection to NUS, supporting the University through alumni engagement, mentorship, or advisory roles. Past award recipients will not be considered for this year’s awards.

You are encouraged to notify the nominee about the nomination and seek his/her consent. You may also obtain notable alumni achievements and volunteer service information from the nominee to support your submission.

You may self-nominate but you would require a referee who can verify your accomplishments and character, preferably someone who is/was from NUS. Your referee’s details can be provided in the nomination form, as part of the submission.

All nominations are reviewed and screened for eligibility before evaluation by the Awards Selection Committee. The final list of award recipients will be published on AlumNET.

The award recipients and nominators will be informed of the results nearer to the awards event. Recipients will receive their awards at the Awards Ceremony. Additionally, recipients will be announced through various online and printed publicity platforms during and after the Ceremony.

In many instances, award recipients have been featured in NUS publications and approached to sit on management boards or to serve as mentors. NUS Alumni Relations may also invite recent award recipients to speak at relevant events.
