Explore the rhythms of existence with OpusNovus in Cycles of Being, a programme that contemplates life’s interconnectedness, its mysteries, and its farewells. Younghi Pagh-Paan’s Lebensbaum I begins the journey with a poignant reflection on nature’s vitality and resilience. George Crumb’s Celestial Mechanics draws listeners into the cosmic dance of the stars. Witold Lutosławski’s Trio for Winds weaves playful yet intricate dialogues, followed by Filipino composer Jonas Baes’s b-a-c-h & sine nomine, which bridges history and innovation with haunting elegance. The evening concludes with YST alumna Toh Yan Ee’s depart, a tender meditation on transformation and letting go.
