Drawing upon his upbringing in a traditional Teochew family, Dr Tan Jiak Kwang (Engineering '81) will share his extensive knowledge about the customs and traditions that define the Teochew community.

Dr Tan will talk about geographic locations and historical events that are related to the Teochew people. He will present the defining facets of Teochew culture, which encompass the Teochew Language (潮语), Teochew Opera (潮剧), Teochew Tea(潮州工夫茶), and Teochew Cuisine (潮州菜).
