Join us for an interactive talk that unveils clever techniques for cracking riddles. Then, test your skills in a lively riddle-guessing activity. Solve riddles, boost your creativity and sharpen your thinking. Along the way, learn to appreciate the wisdom of Chinese culture and language, as each lantern riddle reveals hidden meanings and ingenious wordplay.

Ng Yok Lan
President, Riddle Association (Singapore)
Ng Yok Lan is the President of the Riddle Association (Singapore). She has been instrumental in promoting lantern riddles through organizing national competitions, editing publications and spearheading outreach initiatives. She is the Chief Editor of 谜岛丛书 Volumes II, IV and V, one of the Association's key lantern riddle publications. She has also fostered exchanges with overseas experts and is committed to nurturing the next generation of lantern riddle enthusiasts through workshops, competitions and public event, helping to preserve and promote the art of lantern riddles in Singapore and beyond.
Chow Chai Khim
Senior Librarian (Special Collection Librarian), National University of Singapore
Chai Khim has served in the Library for over 15 years. As a Special Collection librarian, she is dedicated to promoting rare and special collections and supporting students and researchers in discovering related Chinese and English resources—particularly in the areas of Chinese Studies and Southeast Asian Studies. She also provides information services and develops engagement programmes. In her free time, Chai Khim enjoys reading and taking leisurely strolls with her toddlers around the neighbourhood.
