Providing steady financial support for the University

An Endowment Fund

An endowment fund is a collection of charitable donations given to support an institution in perpetuity. As part of the University’s administration, the endowment is recognised as a charity which can be effectively managed to generate a meaningful and steady income stream to support the goals of the University in education, research and enterprise. Each year a portion of the fund is distributed to support the donors' purposes, and any earnings on top of this distribution are used to build further to the endowment's market value.

 

Governance

We are governed by the NUS Board of Trustees, who have appointed an Investment Committee to oversee our activities.

All members of the Investment Office are employees of NUS and are dedicated to the mission of the office and University. We are a lean and efficient team that encourages robust debate, sharing and emphasising long-term thinking when it comes to investing. All team members hold themselves out as fiduciaries and are accountable to the long-term performance of the endowment and care deeply about NUS and its mission.
