About the speaker:

Dr. Thawatchai is a Senior Manager and Global Sustainability Lead at TÜV SÜD AG, based in Singapore. In his current role, Dr. Thawatchai spearheads the development of advanced testing, verification, and certification solutions for sustainable and circular products, aligning with both international and regional regulations across global markets. His responsibilities extend to strategizing and managing all the services related to Circular Economy and Decarbonization for TÜV SÜD globally. With over 15 years of dedicated experience in sustainability and circular product innovation, Dr. Thawatchai's expertise is instrumental in shaping strategies and enhancing competencies within TÜV SÜD. He is also a prominent representative of the company at national and international forums, where he shares his profound knowledge as a subject matter expert in Circular Economy, Resource Use, and Decarbonization.

Before joining TÜV SÜD, Dr. Thawatchai served as the Director of Product Development & Licensing at a company specializing in sustainable and circular textile and plastic products. His early career includes a remarkable tenure as a Scientist at the NUS-Environment Research Institute (NERI) in Singapore, where he focused on Waste-to-Energy and Resource Recovery.

Dr. Thawatchai holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Singapore, a Master of Science in Polymer Science from The Petroleum and Petrochemical College at Chulalongkorn University, and a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honors in Petrochemicals and Polymeric Materials from Silpakorn University.
