Alumni Lucky Draw ("Draw") - Terms and Conditions

By participating in this Draw, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions: 

The Draw is organised by the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the qualifying period is from 16 February 2024 to 17 March 2024 23:59 (Singapore time). Submissions received after the closing date will not be eligible. 

Only NUS alumni (other than NUS alumni who are also staff of NUS) are eligible to participate in the giveaway. You are an NUS alumnus/alumna if you have graduated from the National University of Singapore, or one of its five predecessor institutions i.e. King Edward VII College of Medicine, Raffles College, University of Malaya, Nanyang University and University of Singapore. All graduates awarded with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or graduate diploma are accorded alumni status. To avoid doubt attendees at short courses organised by NUS who are awarded certificates of attendance or something similar do not have alumni status. 

Each alumnus/alumna is only eligible to win one prize. 

Only one entry per alumnus/alumna is allowed even if you have submitted multiple entries for the Draw.  

The Draw will be conducted on 1 April 2024 at 10.00 am. 25 winners will be selected randomly among eligible entries and the winners will be notified via email by 8 April 2024. Prizes not collected within two months from the date of notification from NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (University Town, 8 College Avenue West #02-16, Education Resource Centre, Singapore 138608) will be forfeited. You will also forfeit your prize if your contact details are not found in NUS’ alumni database upon verification.  

In the sequence in which they are drawn, winners will receive the following prizes: 

1. The first alumnus/alumna drawn will receive $7,500 worth of travel vouchers from PriceBreaker and an NUS lifelong learning voucher worth $5,000. 


2. The second alumnus/alumna drawn will receive $4,500 worth of travel vouchers from PriceBreaker and an NUS lifelong learning voucher worth $3,000. 


3. The third alumnus/alumna drawn will receive $2,000 worth of travel vouchers from PriceBreaker and an NUS lifelong learning voucher worth $2,000. 


4. The fourth to seventh alumni/alumna drawn will each receive an iPhone 15 (black, 128 GB subject to availability), and an NUS lifelong learning voucher worth $1,000. 


5. The eighth to tenth alumni drawn will each receive an iPad 10th Gen (subject to availability), and an NUS lifelong learning voucher worth $1,000. 


6. The eleventh to fifteenth alumni drawn will each receive a pair of Sony WF-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones (subject to availability). 


7. The sixteenth to twenty-fifth alumni drawn will each receive $100 worth of Grab vouchers. 

You consent to NUS collecting, using and disclosing your personal data (as set out fully in the NUS Privacy Notice) for the purposes of administering this Draw and disclosure of all such information provided by you to authorised NUS personnel and/or third parties or appointed vendors (which may be based in or outside of Singapore) involved in this Draw  on a need-to-know basis.  

NUS reserves the right to vary the terms, suspend or terminate the Draw without any liability to any party, and the right to select/replace/substitute winners at its sole and absolute discretion. Queries on such matters will not be entertained.  

NUS reserves the right to withdraw, substitute or replace any prizes stated in the Draw with other prizes that it deems to be of similar or equal value without prior notice and without liability to any party. 

NUS’ decision in all matters relating to the conduct of the Draw, verification of the identity of the prize winners, and replacement or substitution of prizes (where applicable) shall be final and conclusive. Correspondence or queries on such matters will not be entertained. 

In no event shall NUS be responsible to you or any third party for any liability, claims, demands, or damages that you or any third party may have arising out of or in connection with the Draw.  

Travel prizes 

• Winners of such prizes may redeem their travel vouchers at PriceBreaker. Should the destination, class of travel or accommodation chosen result in an amount greater than that stated in the voucher, such increase shall be borne by the winner.  


• If the amount redeemed is less than the value of the vouchers, the remainder will be forfeited, i.e. the remainder may not encashed.  


• Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance and must be redeemed by their expiry date as their validity will not be extended. 


• Vouchers are transferable, but may not be replaced if lost, or exchangeable for money. 


• Once redeemed, the travel voucher will not refunded even if the prize winner is unable to travel (for whatever reason). To avoid doubt, it is the winner’s responsibility to ensure (i) that he has the requisite travel documents and (ii) to ensure that he complies with the immigration requirements of the destination stated in the voucher or the alternative destination if an alternative destination has been chosen. 

NUS Lifelong Learning vouchers 

• The winners will receive vouchers which they may redeem for one NUS course that is open to the public or to alumni for registration. 


• Winners may choose any course open to the public or to alumni for registration from:

• The voucher is considered used when the winner has accepted his or her place in a course and indicated that the voucher is to be used for payment. 


• If the fee to be paid for the course that the winners register for is less than the value of the voucher, the remainder of the voucher value will be forfeited, i.e. the remainder may not be encashed. 


• If the fee of the course selected by the winner is more than the value of the voucher, the amount in excess of the voucher value will be paid by the winner. Registration for such a course will be put on hold until the excess is paid in full. 


• If the course that the winner has chosen is one that is subsidised by SkillsFuture Singapore or other body, the winner must use the voucher to redeem the full fee of the course, and not the net fee after subsidy. 


• If the winner withdraws from the course before it starts, the voucher will not be refunded. 


• If the course is cancelled by the school, the voucher will be refunded to the winner.


• Vouchers must be redeemed by 31 March 2025. 


• Vouchers are not extendable, replaceable, exchangeable for money, or transferable. 

Prizes of iPhones, iPads, and Sony headphones must be collected within two months from the date of notification and the deadline for collection is not extendable. iPhones, iPads and Sony headphones are not exchangeable for cash or exchangeable for another model e.g. an iPhone 15 (black, 128 GB) may not be exchanged for an iPhone 14 Plus in yellow . To avoid doubt, such items are furnished “as is” and NUS makes no guarantee as to its quality or fitness for purpose and should issues arise, such issues should be resolved directly with the manufacturer.

Prizes of $100 Grab vouchers are not extendable, replaceable if lost, exchangeable for money, or transferable.
