NUS Alumni Melbourne Chapter's Lunar New Year “Earth Pig” Celebration

The celebration was held at J & W Restaurant on 16 February. The evening started with Senior Advisor Dr Ang Woo Sin’s (Dentistry '68) introducing the new Chapter Chairperson, Dr Edna Yeo (Science '93). Dr Yeo and the new committee welcomed the year of the Pig with a big Yum Seng toast. A colourful Rainbow Yu Sheng and a scrumptious Peking Duck kicked off the dinner.
Talented fellow alumnus Mr Chew's (Law '72) (aka the "Elvis of the Royal Lake Club") renditions of 'The Wonder of You' and 'I Just Can't Help Believin'’ left the guests wanting more. Ms Zeny, wife of Mr Shannon Tan (Arts '54) sang 'Knock 3 Times' and other singers were Mrs Eileen Chew, wife of Mr Chew ("Elvis"), Dr Ang Woo Yoke (Dentistry '71), Mr Arul Earnest (Arts '97) and wife Ms Josephine Tan, and Mr Li Yang and wife Ms Fanny Chan (both Architecture '97).
Some fun and fabulous memories were instantly captured with the Polaroid camera that was circulated amongst the 91 guests, whilst committee member Mr Victor Teo (Arts and Social Sciences '85), was the main photographer for the event. The evening concluded late with three lucky winners happily receiving gift hampers - Dr Chee Wah Khew (Dentistry '69), Dr Ang Woo Sin (Dentistry '68) and Mrs Theresa Wong wife of Mr Michael Wong (Law '62).
