Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Alumni's Supper Gathering
23 August
On 23 August 2022, the Student Life Office of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) recently organised an alumni gathering, held around 11pm. This was also the rehearsal week leading towards the Voyage concert, which is a YSTCM alumni-initiated event. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, it was an opportune time to announce and gather new members for the upcoming YSTCM Alumni Association. The Supper gathering saw alumni from Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ukraine, China, Korea and Singapore. Dean of YSTCM, Prof Peter Tornquist, graced the event and also presented the newly formed protem committee of the alumni association.
Members of the protem committee include Chairperson Dr Lien Boon Hua (Music ’11), Vice-Chairperson Ms Rachel Ho (Music '18), Secretary Mr Don Kow (Music '16) and Treasurer, Mr Kenny Ooi (Music '20). The formation of YSTCM Alumni Association is a new milestone, as the Conservatory celebrates its 20th anniversary in the Academic Year 2022/2023. The Association will also be a platform for alumni to network officially which will provide younger alumni with opportunities for lifelong learning, professional development and mentorship.
