Access Infrastructure
How do we access collections, and what makes that access possible?
The first episode of Pedagogy Talks looks at the infrastructures that shape how collections are encountered, accessed and used. From physical archives and research visits to digitised collections and online platforms, access takes place across different spaces and through different systems, each presenting its own possibilities and challenges.
Bringing together perspectives from libraries, museums and academia, Access Infrastructure considers the people, processes and platforms that facilitate encounters with collections and knowledge. How does access change as materials move between physical and digital spaces? What possibilities do digitisation and online platforms create for research and learning, and what challenges remain? And how might the infrastructures surrounding collections shape who is able to encounter, research and engage with them?
About Pedagogy Talks
Pedagogy Talks is a long-term and ongoing discursive, programmatic platform developed by NUS Museum to convene a range of stakeholders such as students, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and regional interlocutors to understand and examine how museums shape and are also shaped by different pedagogical conditions. As such, the Talks would be a platform linking various stakeholders making up the vibrant ecosystem of the arts and heritage sectors alongside universities and institutions, with communities, and the wider region.
