How do curators think about time in monographic exhibitions?

In conjunction with the publication launch of ““Continuity, Persistence, Line” Thinking Through Clay – A Selection of Works by Delia Prvački”, this instalment of Grounded Conversations at NUS Museum, “Curating Temporalities”, explores the curatorial strategies behind three exhibitions, selected for their focus on the different temporalities inhabited by artists Delia Prvački, Georgette Chen, and Kim Lim. Each artist’s practice, shaped by their distinct contexts and historical moments, offers insights into how time, history, and artistic development intertwine in their monographic exhibitions.

This Grounded Conversation highlights the curatorial approaches taken by Ling Jia Le, curator for ““Continuity, Persistence, Line” Thinking Through Clay – A Selection of Works by Delia Prvački”, Teo Hui Min, co-curator for “Georgette Chen: At Home in the World”, and Joleen Loh, co-curator for “Kim Lim: The Space Between. A Retrospective”, considering how the temporal contexts of these artists’ lives inform the presentation of their monographic exhibitions. The discussion opens broader questions about how time shapes artistic practice and how these artists’ works resonate within and beyond their historical moments.

The publication for “Continuity, Persistence, Line” Thinking Through Clay – A Selection of Works by Delia Prvački” will be on sale at the programme.
