A new bursary supports Southeast Asian students with the potential to lead and the drive to overcome barriers.
It is a gift rooted in a simple belief: that while talent exists everywhere, too many students are held back by circumstances beyond their control. By easing their financial burden, the donors of the TDCX Bursary aim to give deserving students a fair shot, and the freedom to focus on what they can become.
“We are motivated by the belief that education is a powerful equaliser,” shared the donors, who wish to uplift international undergraduates from Southeast Asia. “Many bright young individuals in the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and even Singapore come from underserved communities and lack access to quality education. As Singaporeans who have benefitted from such opportunities, we are passionate about extending the same to others, by helping those who may not otherwise have the means or opportunity.”
The TDCX Bursary will support students from modest backgrounds who are determined to build a better future for themselves and their communities. The donors hope that their gift will open doors for deserving students, especially young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and nursing fields, to pursue their academic dreams, become confident leaders and ultimately uplift their families and communities.
A Ripple Effect in Motion
For the donors, education goes beyond individual success to create collective uplift. “Education not only empowers individuals, but also strengthens communities, drives economic growth, and cultivates empathy and understanding across borders,” they said. “Giving to education is giving to the future. Through education, we can teach a man to support not only himself but also a village for a lifetime.”
The Bursary draws its name from TDCX, a Singapore-headquartered digital customer experience solutions provider that has grown into a global player with 39 locations across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Known for delivering outsourced services to some of the world’s top technology, travel and fintech companies, TDCX has also committed to social impact through its #BeKinder initiative, supporting education, health and disaster relief across Southeast Asia.
“Our journey has been shaped by the values of perseverance, humility and gratitude,” the donors shared. “We believe success is not measured solely by personal achievement, but by how much we uplift others along the way.”
To future recipients, their message is simple and sincere: “Embrace this opportunity fully. Know that we believe in your potential. Dream big, stay grounded and humble, and give back when you can, because that is how the cycle of change continues. You too can make a difference and change someone’s life in a meaningful way.”
And why should others support this cause?
“Because talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not,” the donors concluded. “Supporting high-quality education helps close that gap and creates ripple effects that benefit society at large. So, take action. Every bit helps.”
