The LBKM Future Economy Scholarship was first established in 2017, and aims to encourage more talented youths from the Malay community to pursue studies in future-ready emerging fields such as computing. Since its inception, the Scholarship has been awarded to nine undergraduates who received S$5,000 each.
“The partnership with NUS is not only strategic, LBKM and the University also share the same goal to groom outstanding youths to be future leaders in their respective fields who will serve the community and the nation,” said Mr Suhaimi Salleh, President of LBKM, at the cheque presentation ceremony held at NUS Computing.
“This fund will support more emerging disciplines, especially disciplines that will enable bright and talented students to be future ready,” he elaborated.
Mr Suhaimi also shared how the Scholarship is aligned with LBKM’s strategic direction to extend its scholarship reach through collaborations with reputable education institutes. The Scholarship will also strengthen LBKM’s position as an organisation synonymous with the provision of financial assistance to support local Malay youths in their pursuit of academic excellence.
