As part of DVO Gives Back Day 2023, the Development Office (DVO) team organised a memorable day of fun and learning with friends from the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH).
To kickstart the day, the SAMH team set up a booth showcasing colourful tote bags, cardholders and even jewelry that were handcrafted by the beneficiaries themselves. This gave the DVO team an opportunity to not only shop but also, support a meaningful cause.
To break the ice, we engaged with the beneficiaries through an interactive game of ‘Human Bingo’, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. The first segment concluded with a prize giving ceremony for the game winners and DVO also gifted SAMH with funds raised from DVO’s Silent Auction prior to the event where staff were given the opportunity to sell their items, bid on any of their colleagues’ items they were interested in or both!

Afterwards, we took the beneficiaries to the main highlight of the day – Gardens by the Bay. The Cloud Forest and Flower Dome transported all of us to different corners of the world, showcasing the incredible diversity of plant life and provided a therapeutic escape from their everyday challenges. Witnessing their faces light up amid the vibrant flora was a reminder of the importance of community support and the positive impact nature can have on our mental well-being.

Our annual DVO Gives Back Day is not just a tradition; it is a testament to the heart of NUS, and we look forward to each new opportunity to give back to the communities.
