Summit Planners has built its success by making dreams come true. The integrated financial services provider has spent years helping its clients navigate life’s most important financial decisions, making sure their loved ones are cared for when it matters most.

This year, Summit Planners is reaching greater heights of impact with its first major gift to establish a bursary at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The Summit Planners Bursary will unlock opportunities and realise dreams for financially needy students pursuing their educational ambitions.

“We feel that every promising young person deserves the chance to grow and succeed, regardless of their background or financial situation,” said Mr Stephen Chew of Summit Planners, sharing the motivation behind the gift.

Coming Together to Give

True to its values, Summit Planners brought a strong spirit of camaraderie and teamwork into its approach to giving, turning philanthropy into a shared endeavour.

Beyond a single executive decision to give back, the firm launched a collective fundraising campaign for the Summit Planners Bursary on NUS Giving’s public giving platform, Give.NUS. In this way, the gift became an open invitation, encouraging each partner to contribute directly and create impact together.

“We believe that it is a privilege and a blessing to give back to society in meaningful ways,” shared Mr Chew, explaining why the firm had chosen to contribute in this unique way. “We hope to involve and inspire the people of Summit Planners not to take their earning power for granted, but instead to give back and help improve the lives of others.”

What followed was a heartwarming show of collective goodwill. Partners came forward, contributions rolled in and the movement gained momentum. In just four months, the campaign hit its target of S$250,000. It is proof that generosity, once set in motion, has a way of multiplying.

“Seeing the people of Summit Planners come together to support this cause fills me with pride,” said Mr Chew. “It encourages me to know that our people not only have the capability to earn but also the heart to contribute to society.”

Planting Forward Impact

On the NUS campus, the impact of this gift will be visible for years to come. Summit Planners’ contribution goes towards the Plant-It-Forward Challenge, a university-wide fundraising initiative that supports the Enhanced Financial Aid Scheme (EFAS) while advancing the University’s sustainability goals.

Every S$1,000 given to the Challenge will be recognised with a tree planted on campus, symbolising both opportunity for students and a greener future for all. To celebrate establishing the Summit Planners Bursary, the firm plans to gather for a tree-planting event in August, a moment to celebrate what the community built together.

For every student who receives the Bursary, Summit Planners hopes the support will spark something lasting—that today’s recipients will one day become tomorrow’s givers and keep the cycle going.

“Our wish is that the Bursary can allow students to know how their actions can make a difference in someone’s life. Most importantly, they can use their expertise to serve the people of Singapore, and continue Summit Planners’ values of giving back to society,” Mr Chew concluded.

Every S$1,000 given to the Plant-It-Forward Challenge plants a tree and helps a student grow. Join Summit Planners in supporting the NUS Plant-It-Forward Challenge today.
