Hao En's most notable achievement in his six years of lifesaving was representing Singapore at the 2024 Lifesaving World Championships, where his team broke a decade-old national record in the 4x25m Manikin Relay. As Captain of NUS Lifesaving, he led his team to back-to-back Men's Division A titles in the 2023 and 2024 National Lifesaving Championships, showcasing his commitment and inspiring his teammates and the wider lifesaving community
Sportsman of the Year Daniel Ian Toh
Merit NUS Sailing
Daniel exemplifies leadership, sporting excellence, and community service in sailing. As Captain of NUS Sailing, he introduced over 180 students to sailing through Fun Sail and Basic Sailing Course programs and developed sailors via peer coaching. He led the Athletes Give Back Programme, giving 15 underprivileged youths their first sailing experience. Internationally, Daniel led Team Singapore to a Bronze Medal at the 2024 World University Sailing Championships and secured 5th place in the U25 category at the 2024 SB20 World Championships.
Sportsman of the Year Nicholas Cheong Ee Seng

Nicholas represented Singapore at the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu and the 2024 ASEAN University Games in Surabaya. Competing for NUS in the 2023 Singapore University Games (SUniG), he won three gold medals and set two records. Despite a major wrist injury in November 2023 requiring surgery, Nicholas made a remarkable comeback, winning a silver medal in the 50m Breaststroke at the 2024 ASEAN University Games.
Sportswoman of the Year Nurul Irbah Binte Muhammad Razali

Irbah is an accomplished Silat athlete who won a gold medal at the ASEAN University Games in Match Class A (45-50kg) and two gold medals at the Tertiary Silat Competition, earning the Best Female Athlete award. As NUS Silat Captain, she led the team to its first-ever Best Overall Team award at the Tertiary Silat Competition 2023. Her inspiring return to international competition after a 2020 injury highlights her resilience and dedication.
Sports Team of the Year (Individual Sports) NUS Shooting organises the annual NUS Invitational Shoot, attracting around 100 participants from various institutes. Last year, they focused on community engagement and service, partnering with the Office of Student Affairs for WellNUS Festival, hosting two full-house Fun Shoot sessions, and organizing a charity Fun Shoot event to raise funds for the Children's Aid Society. They also actively competed in events like the NTU Invitational Shoot and the Singapore Cup, winning several medals for NUS.
Sports Team of the Year (Individual Sports) The NUS Lifesaving team has achieved remarkable success, shattering six national records and claiming first place in all divisions at the National Still Water and Open Water Championships. Their precision and speed in aquatic rescue techniques have set new standards. They also engaged the NUS community through the annual NUS Splashdown swimathon, collaborating with NUS HWB and bringing together 130 participants in a celebration of physical well-being and competition.
Sports Team of the Year (Event Sports) NUS Sailing delivered exceptional performances in various local and international competitions over the past year. They secured a podium finish in the 2023 National Championships in the SB20 class, and placed 22nd overall and 5th for their youth team at the 2024 SB20 World Championships in Dubai. Their season culminated with an outstanding Bronze Medal at the FISU World University Sailing Championships in Italy.

At the ASEAN University Games, the NUS Silat Regu Puteri team excelled in the Silat Artistic Women's Team category, overcoming adversities to achieve a silver medal for the Singapore combined university team. They also triumphed with a gold medal at the 2023 Tertiary Silat Championship. Their synchronised performances, requiring trust and teamwork, showcase their cohesion, resilience, and dedication to the sport, achieving remarkable success.

This achievement reflects the team’s unwavering dedication and commitment, underscoring their hard work and determination to make NUS proud in future competitions.
