China Film Festival 2019

A record of close to 1,300 alumni, staff, students and guests, including NUS President Professor Tan Eng Chye (Science ’85) and Co-Chairman of NUS Alumni Advisory Board Mr Johnny Tan (Science ’82), attended the 8th annual China Film Festival held from 23 to 25 October 2019 with a special screening on 31 October.

Guests were treated to a recital by the Chinese Orchestra of NUS Chinese Society. The Festival, which was jointly organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (the Embassy), Singapore China Friendship Association (SCFA) and NUS Alumni Relations, featured a diverse genre of acclaimed films — Shadow, The Wandering Earth, How Long Will I Love You and The Captain. At the end of the screening each night, some members of the audience also went back with attractive lucky draw prizes including an air ticket, kindly sponsored by the Embassy and SCFA.
