ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
NUS Arts Festival 2013: Open Questions “The power to question is the basis of all human progress.” – Indira Gandhi Over 3 weekends in March, NUS students will share performance platforms with local and international professional artists in creative collaborations and partnerships that ask this generation’s most compelling questions. Whimsical or serious, the 36 shows in this festival aim to set you thinking and absorb your thoughts and senses. Depending on your instinct to ask the right questions, life can become an exciting game. An open question beckons you to engage, to connect. You immediately open the realms of thought and emotions into which others are invited to reflect on, think and feel. The Open Question goes beyond just The Unknown to the infinite shared possibilities and experiences to be pursued with curiosity and passion. This is the spirit and the theme of the NUS Arts Festival 2013, NUS’ flagship arts event back for its 8th year. NUS Arts Festival 2013: Open Questions also celebrates the opening of EduSports (now known as the Stephen Riady Centre), a brand new three-storey complex in University Town (UTown) with its state-of-the-art learning, sports and performing arts facilities in one space. Education, sports and arts draw out of passion and commitment to excellence in common and together, they play equally important roles of developing body, mind and spirit of each individual to their full potential. Albert Einstein once said “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” How shall we begin? What do you think? |
