Mirror.Moon 《
NUS Chinese Dance with
Guest Choreographer Wang Cheng
17 Mar | 8pm | UCC Hall | $23, $19 & $16

Across the white canvas of the stage, NUS Chinese Dance traces a journey through centuries of Chinese literature to reinterpret well-known classical poems through the language of dance.

Under the direction of Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer Ding Hong, together with the creative choreography by guest artist Wang Cheng (China), a well-established Anhui-based National 1st Grade Choreographer, the beautiful and delicate combination of poetry and dance will be a rich multisensorial treat for the audience. Mirror.Moon will take them to an idyllic time where man celebrated nature, human relations and living in the moment and questions if modern man is still able to identify with the sentiments of the poems.

The production also brings together expressive Chinese calligraphy and contemporary Chinese paintings by renowned local artist Dr Ho Chee Lick, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, NUS.
