In Soirée 2013, NUS Harmonica Orchestra engages with the question, “With life’s increasing complexities, how should one face the challenges of life?”
Together with Maestro Josephine Koh, the unique harmonica group and special orchestra will present a repertoire of pieces which convey passion and energy in its first half: Piazzola’s Libertango, Bolero and Toledo, Spanish Fantasy portray the fiery spirit and bravery with which one must meet the challenges headlong.
The second half, in contrast to the first, Pavane Pour Une Infante Defunte, Schindler's List, Finlandia suggest that together with the fiery spirit there is a need for moments of calm and quiet contemplation to guide our directions and find the balance to face the future.
