Culture Night

KR Culture Night 2024 on 25th October was a memorable evening that had KR residents gathered in excitement, filling the hall with energy from start to finish. From the moment the lights dimmed, the crowd wasn’t just watching but engaging with every song, cheer, and performance. KR Steppers set the tone with their dynamic routines, followed by KR Dance maintaining the momentum with popular tracks like “Woman” and “Boy’s a Liar.”

Nostalgic covers from KR Inspire and KR Rockers—including “Call Me Maybe,” “Fireflies,” and “Mr. Brightside”—brought a sense of shared nostalgia, with everyone singing along. Act after act took the stage, extending the evening beyond the planned schedule, yet the enthusiasm never wavered. By the end, KR Culture Night had been more than a showcase; it was a true celebration of the KR community, brought to life by the talent and dedication of everyone involved.

Night Cycling

On 24th October 2024, Kent Ridge Hall’s annual Night Cycling event gave residents a unique chance to experience Singapore under the quiet charm of the night. The KR crew set off on bikes, riding through iconic cityscapes like Marina Bay and Fullerton, rediscovering familiar sights in a new light. Along the route, they paused for acai stops, quick games of Heads Up, and spontaneous karaoke performances for passersby. For many, the night cycling event felt like a return to simpler times—friends on bikes, savouring the quiet thrill of the city after hours. The ride wasn’t just about seeing Singapore’s landmarks; it was a chance to enjoy the freedom of empty streets, creating small, joyful memories that often mean the most. As the first light crept in, the group wrapped up with tired legs but full hearts!

Star 2 Burst

On 11th September 2024, Kent Ridge Hall hosted the annual, highly anticipated production event, Star2Burst. Once known as a freshie-led show, Star2Burst welcomed KR residents from all batches to give themselves a chance to bring out their inner artiste, and show off their hidden talents. The night was filled with jaw dropping talent, and outstanding performances, featuring Kent Ridge hall’s beloved culture CCAs such as, KRacapella,  KRockers, KR Inspire, KRemix and KR dance.

Not only that, for the first time ever, KR introduced two Culture Directors, Ashley and Denise, whom steered the event flawlessly, and with great passion. These CCAs gave their heart out during their performances after weeks of training and dedication, which were evidently shown on the day itself. With the support from friends and neighbours, where everyone joined in to dance and sing, it is no doubt that the night has brought everyone closer together as a community.

Inter-Block Games

Inter-block games? more like Intense-block games. For the past two weeks, blocks A, B, C, D and E have competed against one another in several sports events, such as Soccer, Takraw, Handball and many more. The fight to the top was a gruelling battle, where scores between each blocks were tight, but in the end, one obvious winner stood out.

Observing all the blocks bring their game, strengths and support to the courts, it was undoubtedly a memorable experience to watch the teams compete, upholding the strong sense of Kent Ridge Hall’s Culture to Seek, Strive and Excel. As these games come to and end, it is clear that we most definitely cannot wait for the next batch of Inter-Block games to begin.
