Transforming Lives through Opportunity

Education is a powerful tool for upward social mobility. One of NUS' top priorities has always been to ensure that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, have access to higher education.

Beyond raising funds for bursaries and scholarships, NUS seeks to gain strong support for community outreach initiatives and areas where education and research have an impact on the community and public service.

Get Inspired BY Our Stories of Impact

The strength of the NUS Giving community lies in a common belief that we can all play a role in making the world a better place by creating impact where it matters. By enhancing social mobility through education and community outreach initiatives, we can uplift lives and create lasting change. Read our stories here

NUS Business School charity run raises nearly S$300,000 for student bursaries and youth at risk

The NUS Business School community recently kicked off the School’s 60th-anniversary celebrations with the annual Bizad Charity Run, raising nearly S$300,000 for student bursaries and youth at risk. The 15th edition of the annual flagship event attracted sign-ups from more than 800 NUS students, faculty, and alumni to run a 5km fun run route around the Kent Ridge campus or a 10km competitive course. Proceeds from this year’s run will go towards the NUS Business School Alumni Bursary, Student Experience Fund, and Youth Guidance Outreach Services beneficiaries.

WHAT IS SOCIAL MOBILITY?

WHY IS SOCIAL MOBILITY IMPORTANT?

Social mobility is the engine that fuels a just and inclusive society. It enables individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, to climb the social and economic ladder. The importance of social mobility through education cannot be overstated — it tears down barriers, levels the playing field, and makes dreams accessible to all. By enabling this upward trajectory, we are not just transforming individual lives; we are enhancing the vitality and diversity of our communities.

CREATING SOCIAL MOBILITY THROUGH EDUCATION

Education is the linchpin in advancing social mobility. It equips individuals with the tools they need to navigate an increasingly complex world. Moreover, education acts as a transformative force, opening doors and breaking down barriers that often stifle potential. Through quality education, we are not just imparting knowledge; we are offering a lifeline to a brighter future and a stepping stone to greater opportunities, effectively enhancing social mobility in Singapore.

SEE THE POSSIBILITY FOR OUR FUTURE

You have the power to create transformational opportunities. Are you ready to change lives for the better?
