Resident Assistant
Resident Assistants (RAs) are integral members of the residential team, selected through a rigorous process to enhance support for students and enrich their residential experience. Assisting the Resident Fellows (RF) and Residential Life (RL) office, RAs promote community living by assisting in the introduction of new residents to residential life and support services. They foster a sense of belonging by encouraging resident participation in community activities and organizing semester-long events to promote social interaction and relationship-building. RAs also establish communal behavior standards and play a key role in enforcing University housing guidelines. As full-time live-in positions, RAs are readily available to respond to crises and serve as Fire Wardens for the building. Additionally, RAs offer peer support to residents, mediate conflicts when necessary and assist the Resident Fellows in providing pastoral care to residents in need. Through their dedicated efforts, RAs contribute to the overall well-being and positive living experience within UTR.
