How do I apply for an accommodation at UTR?
Submit an electronic application via the application portal (UHMS) in accordance to your registration status; New Students - Not Matriculated, or Matriculated Students. An application fee of $26.75 is payable. Successful applicants have to make an acceptance fee of $200 to secure their accommodation.

How is the room allocation done and how do I choose my roommate?
Room allocations are under the purview of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA). For more information on applying for campus accommodation, please refer to Hostel Admission Service website. After successful application, you will receive a letter of Welcome detailing all check-in and residential information.

When can I apply for an accommodation at UTR?
The hostel application exercise dates can be found here, select one of the following;  Undergraduates / Graduates / Non-Graduating Students, and then select the Application/Registration Dates tab from the right menu bar.

How can I find out how much I need to pay for my hostel fees?
For hostel rates, please click here for undergraduate students and here for graduate students.

Hostel fee is billed by the respective hostels and payable via the University Hostel Management System (UHMS) by stipulated due dates. You may find out more details from the UTR Management Office.

What are the modes of payment for hostel fees?
Your hostel fees can be paid via your UHMS account or via NUSFastPay.

Please visit the UTR Management Office or the Student Service Centre at Yusok Ishak House, should you wish to pay via cheque or NETS. Do note that there is no cash payment.

What is included in a standard hostel room?
The hostel rooms are furnished with a bed, mattress, wardrobe, table, chair and a network point. You may want to bring your own pillow, bed linen, blanket and other daily necessities. 

If you wish to bring any electrical appliances, please obtain the approval from your respective hostel management office prior to bringing them to your hostel room.

What are the various facilities available at UTR?
In each tower, there is a Laundry Room at Level 2.  

Common Lounge is at Level 1 and Level 3 of UTown Residence. An open activity area is located at B1 of both towers. There is also a rooftop garden available for all residents’ usage at Level 8 rooftop.

A Bicycle Room is available at Level 2 of UTown Residence (located outside main foyer, near Fire Command Room(FCR)). You can access it using the issued UTown Residence access card or Student Matriculation Card for your apartment.

Rubbish chutes are available at each floor of the Residence, please throw your rubbish into the rubbish chute. 

Is cooking permissible in my room?
Cooking is generally not permissible in individual rooms.

For fire safety reasons, all kitchen appliances with open flame or heating element that are not provided by the Residence are strictly prohibited.

Who should I approach pertaining to maintenance issues?
All maintenance, housekeeping requests and defects rectifications are managed via the online Housing management system. Please lodge any Maintenance or Housekeeping matters online here for the quickest response to your requests. Our team will also respond to you via this channel for updates and to make an appointment with you for room inspections or rectifications.
