Chinese University Study Award

The Chinese University Study Award (CUSA) is set up to encourage NUS students to go on exchange to the C9 League of Universities (Fudan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tsinghua University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University) in China. This is a merit-based award.

Quantum

Each award is valued at S$3,000. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore citizens and Singapore PRs.
  • NUS full-time undergraduate students who are selected to go overseas for exchange in one of the C9 League of Universities listed above.
  • Granted based on academic merit.

Terms and Conditions

  • Each student may receive at most ONE (1) CUSA during their undergraduate studies at NUS.
  • This award cannot be held concurrently with another award or financial support for the exchange programme.
  • NUS reserves the right to fully or partially recall the award if the overseas programme is cancelled, suspended, not completed at the host university, or if any award obligations are not fulfilled.
  • NUS reserves the right to vary or amend the terms, conditions and contents of this award application at its sole discretion, with due notice provided to applicants.
  • All award recipients are required to complete the necessary post-return actions outlined in the Returning Student Checklist after their overseas programme.

Application Period

Application period is from 1 June to 31 July for SEP in the next academic year.   

Application Procedure

Apply for this award via the Education Records System (EduRec) under Global Education. Be sure to upload your unofficial NUS transcript to apply for this award no later than 31 July.

Result

The results for the awards will be available in September each year.

Disbursement

The award will be disbursed during each semester (September for Semester 1 SEP and February for Semester 2 SEP).
