The annual Residential
Colleges Teaching Excellence Awards (RCTEA) honoured 12 individuals and two teams
at a ceremony on 7 January 2026, in recognition of their sustained innovation
in curriculum design, evidence-based teaching practices, and inclusive learning
environments that empower diverse cohorts of students to thrive.
Under the guidance of
the NUS Provost’s Office and hosted by Ridge View Residential College
(RVRC) this year, the RCTEA affirms the exemplary dedication by the Residential
College (RC) teaching faculty to advancing teaching and learning, as well as
acknowledges the transformative impact of their pedagogical excellence on the
NUS RC community.
In his opening address,
Associate Provost (Integrated Education) Associate Professor Wong Mun Loke
underscored the key attributes that distinguished the award winners this year —
a commitment to holistic student development beyond subject content,
authenticity as educators, broader contributions to society beyond coursework,
and a clear passion for their discipline and teaching practice.
The Residential College
Teaching Excellence Committee was chaired by Associate Professor Chng Huang
Hoon, Director, of Chua Thian Poh Community Leadership Centre (centre, with
blue scarf) and Residential College 4 (RC4) Fellow.
