The enterprise of music: How this busker found his voice
As a Technology Manager at the Technology Transfer & Innovation Office at NUS Enterprise, Mr Jonathan Tan is deeply involved in managing NUS’ Information and Communication Technology (ICT) inventions. Away from the intricacies of intellectual property and commercial agreements, however, Jonathan finds a different rhythm through his guitar, spreading the joy through fortnightly lunchtime jams at NUS Enterprise.

Coordinating a bustling university campus can feel like orchestrating a small city's daily commute. At NUS, this isn't just a hypothetical situation; it's the daily reality for thousands of students, staff, and visitors. Ensuring their smooth and efficient movement across the sprawling campus is the perennial focus of the Mobility Services team in NUS Campus Services. Their efforts have achieved a 91.6% satisfaction rating for “Mobility Services” — a notable 5% increase from satisfaction scores for previous years.

NUS Admin Excellence Awards 2024: Celebrating dedication and innovation
Smiles and applause resounded at the NUS Admin Excellence Awards 2024 held on 23 October 2024, as over 150 attendees gathered onsite at the University Hall Atrium, along with a livestream audience, to celebrate the remarkable contributions and achievements of administrators and their teams at the University. This annual event, now in its second year, marks NUS’ commitment to honour the recipients whose efforts have brought significant positive impact to the University’s operations, and the wider NUS community as well.

Unlocking AI in NUS at DE’Hackathon 2024
DE’Hackathon returned for a second edition, themed “Unlocking AI in NUS”. Organised by NUS IT, the hackathon was designed to foster creativity and innovation among NUS staff, and encourage cross-departmental collaboration to develop new, innovative solutions using Digital Enablement (DE) tools and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to address real-life challenges and transform work processes.

It was a dark and stormy night, but the inaugural Darts competition organised by the NUS STARS (Staff Talent in Athletics and Recreational Sports) got off to a rousing start on 6 March 2024. With over 60 staff gathered from across the various academic, research, executive and administrative departments at NUS, the atmosphere was convivial but tinged with a sense of anticipation and friendly competition as teams of three vied for the top prize.
