Temasek Hall's very own Dance Club (better known as THDC) is a group of friendly and open-minded individuals who come together to form a community that explores and grows in their passion together. Most identifiable by their large oversized shirts and baggy sweatpants, they move to a variety of genres of music and execute a myriad of dance styles. You'll find them in our Multi-Function Room (MFR) every Thursday from 8-11pm, however, their immense desire to perfect their choreography and create new ones likely means you can catch them around TH at any time, as well as on @temasekhalldance on Instagram!
Temasek Hall's Dance Production, or THDP for short, is the biggest cultural event of every Academic Year. Featuring dancers of varying skillsets, it's the event that brings the whole hall together for a night of fun and dancing. Every year, the THDP items are immaculately choreographed by talented members of THDC, who share their gift for dance and talents by training inexperienced Temasekians to perform to their fullest potential. Often, THDP is actually a platform for many Temasekians to find their hidden talent for dance – spurring them to pursue dancing even outside of DP. A milestone event every year, the entire hall keenly looks forward to the start of THDP practices, where they get to laugh and grow in performance alongside their friends.
In a constant state of jamming it out, Threshold is Temasek Hall's own band that covers a diverse range of genres, including but not limited to pop punk, rock, heavy metal, mandopop and KPop. Truly, Threshold's musical diversity is only made possible by their talented members, who are all dedicated to honing their craft – be it that of polishing their vocal prowess or practicing constantly to perfect shredding a riff at 180bpm. They showcase the fruits of their efforts through several shows in an Academic Year, most notably Open Mic and Chillout. Temasek Hall's resident Choir and Aca Pella CCA, VOX strives to spur their singers to grow in musicality by pushing for stellar performance standards. Having performed all through-out Singapore, including the Esplanade and various hotels, VOX strives to provide a plethora of opportunities for their members to showcase their talents. A family of passionate and artistic individuals, Temasek Theatrette prides itself on its immaculate vibes and commitment to honing their members' theatrical skills. Putting up an array of original productions every year, their crowing jewel is undoubtedly the Musical Production that takes place every Semester 2. They meet every Monday and Wednesday, and seek to reignite the artistic passion in their audience through their own fervour for performance. THMP: The piece de resistance of Temasek Theatrette's yearly portfolio, the Temasek Hall Musical Production has historically been an original, completely in-house production that showcases the musical and theatrical prowess of Theatrette's talented actors. With the strong support of the Cultural Production Team and various Temasekians, THMP seeks to inspire its audience through riveting and meaningful performance. Under the guidance of the Director and Producer, the extraordinary opportunity to star in the THMP cast brings together diverse talents and personalities to deliver a spectacular show.
