The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will conduct a Regional Recruitment Outreach Mission to the ASEAN region during November 2024. The program includes outreach sessions with universities with the objective of introducing students to the work of the IMF and information on career opportunities.

To drive this effort, the IMF is organizing a series of briefing sessions by partnering with Economics Departments at premier universities across the globe. The IMF offers exciting and wide-ranging career opportunities for students pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics and related fields, where they can balance their academic interests with meaningful contributions on the world stage.

In collaboration with the NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences’ Department of Economics and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, the IMF will hold an Information Session on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 @ 10AM at NUS Central Library Seminar Room, and would like to warmly extend an invitation to students (BA/MA/PhD levels) to: (1) gain insights on the IMF in serving our global membership by promoting the stability of the international monetary system and cooperation, and (2) for students to learn more about the different recruitment programs available.

The session will cover in detail the following programs:

  • Economist Program (EP), our flagship program aimed at current and recent PhD graduates entering the job market.
  • Fund Internship Program (FIP), for current MA and PhD students returning to university studies after completing the internship which runs for 10-12 weeks between June and October.
  • Research Analyst Program (RAP), for students in the final year of undergraduate study in Economics and related fields and currently on target to graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 or upper-second class honors.
  • Other career streams.
