More about the speakers:

Andrea (Andy) Carmone serves as Director, Clinical Sciences at CHAI. She has practiced global health for 25 years, living and working in Southeast Asia-Pacific (Cambodia, Papua New Guinea), Sub-Saharan Africa, India, and New Mexico, USA. Andy is a certified nurse-midwife also trained in epidemiology and public health, with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Women’s and African American studies. She is on the Steering Committee of India’s UNESCO Chair for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment and the Advisory Committee for the C20 during India’s G20 presidency. She champions structural competency, gender integration and quality of care for tailored, evidence-based programs, apparent in her research, summarized on ORCID. She contributes to national and global programs in terms of strategy, clinical guidance, training, policy, and research. She prizes collaborating with colleagues at all stages of their careers to examine complex problems and produce insightful and impactful work.  

Stanton has been at CHAI for more than 5 years. He started working on the HIV access program in Cambodia, before being seconded to GAVI and the COVAX Facility to assist on COVID-19 vaccine roll-out, he has also worked on Global Tuberculosis and Global Diagnostics programs and now helps to spearhead CHAI’s Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) team. Previously, Stanton had also worked at ADVANCE-ID, part of the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at NUS and was an AMR intern at the World Health Organisation Western Pacific Regional office (WPRO) in Manilla. His formal training includes practising as a clinical pharmacist for 7 years at Singapore General Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital, where he specialised in infectious diseases and developed the first Antimicrobial stewardship program in a private hospital in Singapore. Stanton completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of International Public Health at the University of Sydney, Australia.
