Singapore’s Journalism sector—anchored by a comprehensive media ecosystem that encompasses print, broadcast, and digital platforms—serves a population of over 5.6 million and generated S$3.42 billion in revenue in 2025. As a leading information hub in Southeast Asia, Singapore is recognised for its robust digital infrastructure and high mobile penetration, while local media brands such as The Straits Times and Channel News Asia consistently rank among the region’s top news providers. Facing both challenges and opportunities, the sector is actively adapting to the digital revolution and the rise of AI-powered content creation, as well as addressing the spread of misinformation through professional standards and fact-checking initiatives. Sustainability is increasingly prioritised, with programmes like the Sustainability Media Academy equipping journalists with skills in sustainable development reporting, and industry-wide efforts focused on responsible and impactful journalism.
