Do you struggle to present your best self during interviews or want to know how you can improve? Do you want to prepare in the best possible way so that you can secure your future role in tech or other competitive industries?
Organisations such as FDM Group use strengths-based interviews to find out what candidates love to do and do well. They are focused on making sure that the people they select are the right people for the right role - those who will enjoy their jobs, perform well and stay with the organisation. A strengths-based interview is designed to understand both what energises and motivates you, as well as what you do well. This differs from both competency-based interviews, which are focused more on what you can do or have done, or biographical interviews which tend to be a talk through your CV.
Another reason many employers favour strengths-based interviews, is because your responses are harder to 'fake'' with detailed pre-prepared stories, as compared to competency-based interviews. Instead, the organisation gets to see the ‘real’ candidate and see your individuality shine though – which is what they're really looking for.
Join this session to learn:
- What is strengths-based interviewing and how do you need to prepare versus a competency-based interview
- What are employers looking for in a strengths-based interview
- How to demonstrate your best self in a strengths-based interview
- How to answer typical strength-based interview questions, by practising during activities at the workshop
- What to expect at the interview stage of the FDM recruitment process
This will be an interactive session where attendees will be encouraged to partake in activities and ask questions to ensure they get the most out of the session. The recruiters who will be presenting have not only been trained in strengths-based interview techniques but also support graduates on a regular basis with how to prepare for such interviews, thereby offering a wealth of knowledge on this subject.
This session is ideal for any penultimate or final year University students who are preparing for or in the process of applying for their first graduate role.
