Find Your Fit in the Green Economy – Energy Sector

Driving the “Green Economy” is becoming a major focus for countries around the world, as they commit to ambitious decarbonisation targets. Many countries, including Singapore, have targets to create new jobs, transform industries and harness sustainability as a competitive advantage. The rising costs of the climate emergency pose a significant threat to our collective future, necessitating a rapid energy transition to achieve Net Zero objectives.

The energy sector is leading the charge in leveraging innovation and transformation to generate scalable climate impact, particularly in regions where renewable energy sources have witnessed unprecedented growth in accessibility and affordability. This panel session invites you to embark on a dynamic exploration of the sustainable energy landscape, featuring experts in green energy solutions across multiple sectors.

Look forward to these key takeaways:

  • Learn about the significance of renewable energy sources, sustainable practices, and the transition to a greener energy landscape
  • Explore how industries are leveraging technological innovations like HelioScope and PVSyst, and understand their role in enhancing the efficiency of solar PV projects
  • Delve into the skills required for new business development in the renewable energy sector, including financial modelling, contract negotiation, and customer engagement
  • Understand the role of finance in driving sustainability initiatives and the impact of evolving carbon markets on the transition to a low-carbon future
  • Understand how experts navigate regulatory landscapes in sustainable energy projects
  • Gain an understanding of the roles and career opportunities available in the green energy sector

Who should attend?

  • Undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in the energy sector, renewable energy, sustainability and green jobs.
This workshop is a pre-event activity under NUS Career Fest 2024. Join us at NUS Career Fest on 20 - 22 February 2024.
