Yet, this advancement has brought with it a new set of challenges – Cyber threats are growing at an exponential rate globally and has moved beyond identity theft and online account hacks. This highlights the importance of cybersecurity.

Join us for a panel discussion to hear from esteemed guest speakers from Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), Red Alpha (a cybersecurity talent development company), and DXC Technology (an IT services and consulting company), to learn about the overview of the cybersecurity landscape, skills required to be part of this industry, and potential career pathways.

Discover how you can make use of the various opportunities to equip yourself with the relevant technical skills, or to pivot into this industry. Additionally, take advantage of the networking opportunities at the end of the session to connect with the panelists and gain expert insights and advice.

Mr Paul Wong
Assistant Director, Ecosystem Development, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA)

Paul Wong is the Assistant Director, Ecosystem Development at Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, where he leads a team to drive the development of Singapore’s cybersecurity workforce through career enhancement and skills deepening under the national SG Cyber Talent initiative.

Prior to joining CSA, he spent over 15 years in the Continuing Education and Training (CET) sector, where he contributed to both the government and private sector sides of the ecosystem primarily in the areas of workforce and skills development.

Emil Tan
Mr Emil Tan
Chief Community Officer, Red Alpha

Emil Tan is Chief Community Officer and founding team member of Red Alpha – a cybersecurity talent development company. Emil incepted highly successful traineeship programmes, namely the Alpha Specialist Training Programme (ASTP) and Enterprise Specialist Training Programme (ESTP), that produced high-quality cybersecurity professionals in contribution to Singapore’s national cybersecurity capacity-building effort. 

Emil is a leader in Singapore's cybersecurity ecosystem. He is also Cyber Strategist and Market Lead for Critical Infrastructure at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he works with national-level organisations to formulate cyber strategies and execute large-scale transformation. He plays an active role in catalysing cybersecurity thought leadership, both locally and internationally. Emil founded Division Zero (Div0) – Singapore’s largest techno-centric cybersecurity community group, and Infosec In the City, SINCON – Singapore’s international techno-centric cybersecurity conference. Emil was awarded the Cybersecurity Award (Professional Category) in 2018 by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), and a Special Recognition Award in 2023 by the Ministry of Communications and Information.

David Allott
Mr David Allott
Chief Security Officer, ASEAN, DXC Technology

With more than 20 years of experience, David has held cybersecurity and technology roles across the Asia Pacific. Currently serving as Chief Security Officer for ASEAN at DXC Technology, he consults with CIOs and CISOs on building cybersecurity strategies across public and private organisations for cloud, applications, OT and incident response. Prior to joining DXC, David was Head of Cyber Defense, APAC at Orange Business Services, and before that held senior roles within McAfee and Symantec. As an active industry speaker, he also contributes to online publications, and regularly appears in media discussing global cybersecurity threats and trends.
