In this workshop by Singapore-Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC), you will learn about the professional landscape and internship opportunities in Thailand.

  • The key/growing industries and companies in Thailand/Bangkok
  • Backgrounds, experience and skillsets that are relevant for the market and industries

The STCC maintains close relationships with the Singapore Embassy and Enterprise Singapore. An initiative by the Singapore government to promote trade, STCC aims to promote economic and social relationships by bringing Thai, Singapore and foreign companies which are stationed in Thailand together.

The STCC's corporate members consist of over 250 companies, from an extensive and diverse range of sectors like Banking and Finance, Hospitality, Properties, Professional Services, Electronic, Manufacturing, and industries. It boasts a vast network of members increases interactions and business opportunities and investment activities and opportunities between Singapore and Thailand.

Dr

Dr Alan Lim 
Chairman, Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce 

Dr Alan Lim has been in Thailand for the last 26 years in his full-time capacity as Vice President and Founder of Foamtec International Co., Ltd. He is a veteran in the manufacturing and engineering industries with deep understanding in material sciences and electronics. 

Alan has been contributing to the Board of Directors in the Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce since 2011 and has served three terms as the Chairman, He is also serving as the BOD in Board of Trade Thailand. He has been at the forefront of building relations both with government agencies, foreign chambers of commerce from other nations, executing charity efforts throughout Thailand and ultimately a reputable leader in the Business Community. 

Alan is also a big fan in green energy to make the world a better place. He has co-founded I-Motor which is the first Made in Thailand Electric Motorcycle. 

Alan is always keen to share and speak to anyone who is keen to find out more about the Thai market and the opportunities available. 

Marciano
Marciano Birjmohun

Vice Chairman, Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce 
Senior Vice President of Business Development, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation (MQDC)

Originally from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Mr. Marciano moved to Thailand in 2011.

He is on the Board of Directors for the Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce since 2017, and currently holds the position as Vice Chairman. In this position he is responsible to liaise with private, public, and governmental bodies to ensure that communication and plans will benefit members, new entrees and the overall country competitiveness level.  

In his full capacity he is the Senior Vice President for a prominent real estate conglomerate in

Thailand, and advisor to family offices in the region. Management, Corporate Strategy and Business Development are three of his main pillars of expertise. Marciano is often seen in the media as guest speaker and influencer at industry related events. He also annually contributes as Central panel of Judges (Thailand) for The Thailand Property Awards (PropertyGuru SG) since 2015. 

Gordon
Gordon Michael Ho 

Director, Membership & Benefits and Partnerships, Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce 

Mr Gordon Ho has been based in Bangkok for the last four years. Venturing out during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period, Gordon began established his company, Golden Eye Corp, in Thailand with the main target of wholesaling distribution of Colored Contact Lenses. He soon discovered that companies needed much assistance in Thailand with professional services to navigate the Thai business landscape and pivoted to do that efficiently and effectively – serving as a consolidated point of information and solutions for businesses. 

His passions lie in the field of business and education. As an entrepreneur, Gordon has been able to demonstrate his ability to plan and execute businesses in the fields of professional services, technology, and business development as a service. With 8 years of professional working experience under his belt. 

Gordon has been featured on the International Business Times and Money 89.3 FM with regards to his journey in experiences of doing business and expanding into the Thai market. 

Derrick
Derrick Khoo

Director, Legal & Charity, Singapore Thai Chamber of Commerce 

Mr Derrick Khoo has been based in Thailand for the past two and a half years, and his journey outside of Singapore has spanned nearly 18 years. He is a partner of Tilleke & Gibbins, a regional law firm with 7 offices in 6 countries and is also the co-head of the firm’s China desk which takes charge of Chinese client relations and matters. 

Derrick has amassed close to two decades of professional legal experience with international law firms and conglomerates whilst living and working in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Shanghai, Yangon, and Bangkok. Over the course of his career, he has advised on numerous prolific legal transactions that have garnered recognition and awards. Owing to his legal expertise and client service, Derrick is recognised as a “Rising Star Partner” by International Financial Law Review 1000 (2022-2024) and a “Notable Practitioner” by Asialaw Leading Lawyers (2024).

He is qualified as a Solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong SAR, an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.

Kenny
Kenny Lim

Director, Golden Eye Corp

Mr Kenny Lim used to deal with Ultra High Net Worth individuals during his private banking career with Morgan Stanley. He then contributed significantly to the development and market entry/expansion in the wine investment space with Cult Wines. As Director of Golden Eye Corp, he is mainly responsible for the development and expansion of the company's various core business functions. He also oversees the operations of the company and is key to driving the strategies of the business.
