In 2014, Evonik opened its first production complex for MetAMINO®, which is an essential amino acid DL-methionine used in sustainable animal feed, on Jurong Island Singapore. Then in 2019, to cater for the strong demand growth in Asia, Evonik opened its 2nd complex for DL-methionine right next to the first. And most recently, Evonik completed the expansion of the Singapore's facilities in 2025, bringing the total annual nameplate capacity to 340,000 metric tons of DL-methionine. The Singapore site hires a workforce of more than 300 and operates a continuous manufacturing process 24/7, producing DL-methionine and serving key markets around Asia.
