Storytelling for Career Success

In this Storytelling for Career Success workshop, students will learn how to distinguish themselves from the competition during interviews by crafting professional narratives that are both authentic and unique.

Students will be equipped with the skill of developing and delivering memorable responses to interview questions that will ultimately increase their likeability among interviewers and their chances of getting hired. The workshop will also feature a segment on discerning what interviewers are looking out for when they pose particular types of questions, and how to respond to them in each of those scenarios.

By the end of the workshop, students should be able to:

  • Distinguish between a story and a narrative.
  • Identify the 5-stages of Freytag’s storytelling pyramid.
  • Apply messaging techniques to enhance communication.
  • Craft a narrative to communicate a message effectively.

All students are welcome to attend this workshop.

This is a pre-event workshop ahead of the NUS CHS Career and Internship Fair 2024 and CDE Career Fair 2024.
