According to a 2017 LinkedIn Survey, almost 80% of respondents consider networking important to career success and 70% were ever hired through a professional connection. However, recent research has shown that the pandemic resulted in considerable shrinkage in people's professional networks.
In this workshop, we will explore how to overcome barriers and challenges to networking and the relevant skills and tools to network efficiently.
Through this session, you can learn how to deploy the 3 Ps of networking - Prepare, Present and Practise - to network effectively at the upcoming NUS Career Fest 2025, other networking events, as well as online platforms such as LinkedIn. This is a physical session so come prepared to interact, network, and have fun!
Look forward to these takeaways:
- Learn how to Prepare to network effectively at NUS Career Fest 2025, other networking events, and online platforms such as LinkedIn, by doing research and preparing an elevator pitch.
- Understand how to Present yourself well through impactful verbal and non-verbal communication, and professional dressing to exude confidence.
- How to Practise essential networking skills so you will feel calm and comfortable during networking events.
Who should attend?
- All undergraduate students who are keen to hone their networking skills to build meaningful connections, particularly students who are planning to attend NUS Career Fest 2025.
This is a pre-event workshop for NUS Career Fest 2025.
