The Challenge: Develop solutions to help refugee youth
CIEE, in collaboration with UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, calls on teams of undergraduate students from across the globe to present their solution ideas to support increasing access to higher education and livelihood for forcibly displaced youth around the world.
Create a team of 3-4 people including the team captain. The minimum number of people on a team is 3; the maximum number of people on a team is 4. This is a team competition; individuals without a team are not eligible to compete.
The Format: 3 Rounds of Competition
- Round 1 - 2/10 - 2/21 (All teams, Proposal, 500 words)
- Round 2 - 3/31 - 4/11 (36 teams, Virtual Presentation 4/18)
- Final Round - 6/24 - 6/27 (3 teams, in person, Singapore)
The Benefits:
- All participants will develop valuable skills employers are looking for while working to solve one of the world’s most critical issues.
- All participants will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing refugees and forcibly displaced populations.
The Prize
- Round 2 Finalist Teams earn a trip to Singapore to compete in the final round in person at the Global Internship Conference.
- The winning team will earn a Summer 2026 Global Internship facilitated by CIEE
