Introduction to Zotero

Zotero is a powerful citation management tool that has a gentle learning curve. It is easy to use and has a plugin that works on your browser to capture web-based bibliographic information. The community-based support has amassed over 9,000 citation styles in its open source repository, plus its stability makes it one of the most reliable software around. This introductory workshop will equip you with the basics of referencing so you can hit the road running in writing up those academic papers/assignments!

  • How to add and organise references in Zotero
  • Insert citations from Zotero into your assignments or academic papers in MS Word
  • Format and change to the appropriate citation style with ease
  • Collaborate with others using Zotero

Su Yian

Kho Su Yian

Principal Librarian (Research Librarian – HASS)
With over 20 years of experience as a librarian, Su Yian advises students and conducts workshops on Business Research. Her interests include social media, mythology and Chinese tea. A NUS alumni, Su Yian graduated from FASS with a B.A (Hons) in English Literature.
Siu Chen

Lim Siu Chen

Senior Librarian (Research Librarian – HASS)
Siu Chen is a librarian at NUS Libraries. Her interests relate to copyright and information literacy. She has experience providing information literacy instruction as part of the Law Resource and Humanities & Social Sciences Teams. She has an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore and an MSc (Library Science) from Nanyang Technological University.

Preparation for Participants

All NUS staff and students are welcome.
