Text Mining of Public Health Articles from the 19th to Early 20th Centuries Using Gale Digital Scholar Lab

While the COVID-19 pandemic has brought the term “public health” back into the public consciousness, it was by no means the first time authorities and scientists battled an invisible enemy. In this session we will utilise various text-mining tools in Gale Digital Scholar Lab to uncover broad patterns and unexpected keywords from public health related vocabularies over the past century.

Senior Product Manager, Gale Asia
Masaki Morisawa is Senior Product Manager of Gale Asia. In this role, he supports the Gale sales force in areas of product information and training, marketing materials, and technical support. Before joining Gale, Masaki worked for an antiquarian and academic book seller in Japan. He studied English literature in Sophia University, Tokyo.

  • Participants who are interested to have some hands-on using the Digital Scholar Lab may bring their laptops (fully charged).
