Behind the Stacks

What lies beyond our libraries’ main stacks? And where do our libraries store the over 3 million books, journals and physical publications?

Find out in Behind The Stacks, where our librarians will take you behind the scenes to take a closer look at how we preserve and organise knowledge for use in research, how collections are formed, and how everyday items can become part of the historical record.

You’ll enjoy exclusive access to areas where we hold our rare books, private papers, historical newspapers, and ephemera - materials not typically available on display. Register now and discover new ways to engage with our library resources!
