Why It Matters: Data Organisation & Documentation for Reproducible Research

Well-organised research data, accompanied by sufficient contextual details, not only saves you time (imagine searching through poorly organised files), but also helps ensure that your scientific findings are credible, reproducible and reusable.

Can you find and understand your research data months or even years after it was created? What essential practices can prevent data rot over time? And how can you ensure that others, including yourself, will understand what your data means and potentially reuse it for further research?

The answers to these questions and more will be covered in this session. Pick up practical tips on keeping your research data organised, tidy and in tip-top shape!

Learn

  • The importance of data organisation and documentation in a research lifecycle.
  • To apply best practices of data organisation and documentation to maximise discoverability, reproducibility and replicability of research data.
