To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Singapore’s modern judicial and legal system (SGLaw200), the Ministry of Law has collaborated with HeritageSG to hold a roving exhibition titled "In Practice: The Rule of Law in Our Singapore Story". NUS Libraries is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the exhibition from 23 Oct to 7 Nov 2026.

Through thoughtfully curated panels and multimedia displays, visitors can trace the beginnings of Singapore’s modern judicial and legal system, and discover how the Rule of Law has, among other things, driven economic progress, maintained racial and religious harmony, and provided a strong foundation for the development of key social policies. The exhibition also explores why championing a rules-based world order matters to Singapore, and how the Rule of Law must continue to evolve to meet new challenges.

Visitors can also complete a quiz and redeem one of five exclusive pins (while stocks last), each representing a key aspect of the Rule of Law in Singapore.

Visit the exhibition at Central Library, Level 1, from 23 October to 7 November and discover how the Rule of Law has shaped Singapore’s story!

If you wish to explore further beyond the exhibition, there is also an SGLaw200 heritage trail, where you can sign up for free guided tours to uncover the stories behind landmarks with significance to the Rule of Law in Singapore.

Visit sglaw200explore.sg for more information on the exhibition and heritage trail, and to sign up for a guided tour.
