Eric C. Thompson is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the National University of Singapore. He holds a PhD in sociocultural anthropology from the University of Washington and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, University of California Los Angeles. He is author of Unsettling Absences: Urbanism in Rural Malaysia (2007) and The Story of Southeast Asia (2024), co-author of Awareness and Attitudes toward ASEAN (2007) and Do Young People Know ASEAN? (2016), and co-editor Southeast Asian Anthropologies (2019) and Asian Smallholders: Persistence and Transformation (2019) among other publications.

Associate Professor Joonmo Son

Joonmo Son is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the National University of Singapore. He studies social capital, social networks, volunteerism, health and aging, and religion. His works appeared in journals such as Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Aging & Mental Health, Social Networks, Social Indicators Research, Social Science Research, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, and Sociological Forum. He published a book titled Social Capital in the Polity's Key Concepts Series. He was elected president of the International Sociological Association Research Committee 55 (Social Indicators) from 2023 to 2027. He is a coeditor of the Asian Journal of Social Science and Current Sociology, an official journal of the International Sociological Association.

Oluwatooni Akinkuotu

Oluwatooni is Publisher of an active portfolio of Sociology, Justice and Political Science journals at Elsevier. For the past 5 years, Oluwatooni has worked alongside researchers, Editors, academic partners, and colleagues first as a Supplier Operations Specialist, an Author Specialist, an Associate Publisher and then as a Publisher. Prior to joining the publishing world, she was a Research Fellow at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, in Lagos, Nigeria. Oluwatooni is interested in the significant changes that have shaped the scholarly publishing industry and academia over the years. She sees her role as a partner for academics, helping them to navigate the deep waters of academic publishing and disseminate their work to have the greatest impact. Oluwatooni is also passionate about and encouraging collaboration within research communities.
