Compiled by Lee Ching Seng, 1998. This bibliography was first published together with the English edition in 1999 to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the founding of modern Singapore by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. While the bibliographic entries in the Chinese & Japanese edition are different from those of their English counterpart, the format is identical. The focus is on the history of Singapore, from its earliest times through the period of British rule interrupted briefly by the Japanese occupation, to independence and thereafter. It has been a popular resource for students and researchers looking for Chinese and Japanese sources on the history of Singapore. The bibliography was separately relaunched as an online database, listing records of Chinese and Japanese books, theses, book chapters, journal articles, and journals.
