In January 2025, we conducted 2 additional workshops to support the shortlisted project groups as they enter the last phase of their journey – project incubation!
Lasting up to 6 months, this phase will focus on helping them turn their ideas into reality, with guidance and training from heritage and outreach experts.
To equip students with the essential skills for a successful project implementation, we curated a training series held over two consecutive Saturdays, covering:
Pictured: In her workshop on Research Ethics, A/Prof Natalie Pang guided students towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of academic integrity
Pictured: Kamini Ramachandran (Director of MoonShadow Stories) shared practical tips on effective oral communication and oral interviews
Pictured: Students putting what they’ve learnt to the test by role playing as interviewers and interviewees
Pictured: Fauzy Ismail (President of Singapore Heritage Society) briefed student facilitators on the day’s agenda before his Cultural Mapping workshop at the West Coast area
Pictured (above & below): The various project teams shared their key takeaways from the Cultural Mapping workshop, as well as their experience in interviewing the community and their observations on the urban design of the West Coast area
With these foundational skills, our project groups are now ready to bring their heritage initiatives to life!
